Sometimes we stroll (or maybe drive) through life looking neither to the right or to the left. We use a myriad of excuses to not look around us at the beauty or the decay. I’ve been one of those people that has often gone down the road with blinders on my eyes so that I can be spared the ugly around me and thus missing out on so much beauty.
I still find myself occasionally forgetting to look either way and just plow ahead on the course I’ve planted in my head and thus often overlooking the plans that God has on my life. I was especially guilty of this over this past few years but now that God has placed Boo into my life I have tried to at least put on clear blinders. The Lord is helping because I’m now allowing Him to guide OUR lives. Thus the beauty that you see displayed on our blogs through the camera lens guided by Boo’s seeking eyes has started to unfold a whole new dimension in my life. I’m starting to see the beauty around me. It encompasses all my senses and has allowed me to experience the joy of living, caring and sharing. God has placed a wonderful helpmate, friend, lover and wife into my life and I will be forever grateful to Him. But even more than that, Boo has sharpened my desire to draw closer to my Lord.
I could probably leave this blog right there and feel that I’ve posted a complete blog but I also know that I must share our experiences and the beauty around us with each of you. You can’t help but see the magnificance of lofty mountains, flowing rivers, giant trees, the smallest of flowers and not believe that there is a God, our God, that created this beauty. It wasn’t mere chance or some big bang eons ago. It was formed for us by our loving God.
Blessings to each of you and thank you for allowing me into your life over these past two years.
Update: (May 2015) – We’ve made a slight change in our travel and plans from this point forward. The Lord directed us to a little house in Texas that we now call home. We are thoroughly enjoying bringing you thoughts and sights as we travel. God is good!
May God’s love and blessings shower down on each of you,
Nick (now with Boo by my side)
